The Gulf Coast Chapter of ASMC is an active part of the community of Northwest Florida. Along with community service, we participate in various fundraisers to offer scholarships to area college students seeking degrees in comptroller-related subjects. We also offer training opportunities through our monthly luncheons and an annual Professional Development Seminar. Read more here *

Your Programs committee has been hard at work to bring you a great line up of interesting subjects to keep you updated and on top of your important role in the business and operations of the USAF! Opening speaker is Maj Gen Al Flowers, SAF/FMB giving us a unique perspective of funding in the current environment. It is timely info from the top budgeteer in the AF. We will have some very special speakers with us throughout the day. Here is just a taste!

Mr. Jonathan Witter, SES, Director of DFAS, Columbus will be doing one session on successful partnerships. Speaking to DFAS relationship to their customers and how partnerships can achieve tough tasks. Col Chip Fulghum, Comptroller, Air Education and Training Command will be with us throughout the day presenting a two part session on Comptrollership and partnering with Col (ret) Dave Weinberg, former Comptroller of AETC, to present sessions on Excellent Leadership Management and Opportunities in Front of You. Mr. Weinberg will also hold one session on Taking Care of People and one on Taking Care of Customers.

Our luncheon speaker will be Mr. Dan Clark, CEO of a multi-million dollar high performance consulting firm, an internationally recognized speaker, New York Times bestselling author (a contributing author to the Chicken Soup for the Soul books), university professor, songwriter/recording artist, and award winning athlete who fought his way back from a paralyzing injury that cut short his football career! Who better to inspire and motivate us to go out and do great things for the USAF!

Just a few of the other topics offered throughout the day include subjects to interest us all whether you are a cost estimator/analyst, a contracting employee or in budget, auditing, accounting or finance. The lineup has something for everyone: AF RI3 Process, Cost Estimating Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, FFP vice Cost for Development for Development Contracts, Top Ten Things to Know About Your Retirement Plan. One session for CSRS and one for FERS, Initiatives in Strengthening Acquisition, Speakeasy, Microsoft Excel Tips and Tricks, Decision Support Overview
